I’m a versatile wordsmith, providing bespoke creative written content for a variety of trade and consumer publications, both regional and national. If you’re lost for words, I can help bring your story to life. Professional, friendly and reliable, I always deliver within deadline to the highest possible standard.

With over 14 years experience in a cross-section of media, including television, radio and print journalism, my people-finding skills are second-to-none; in fact, I relish a challenge. My factual research is always accurate and robust, and I’ll put my interviewees at ease whilst quickly finding out just what makes them tick. Story is key in everything I write, whether it’s a trade feature about a new innovation in biomass boilers or an interview with an inspirational marine artist for a national consumer magazine.

I have lived in South Devon since 2004 when I first moved here for just six months. I love uncovering new stories about artisan producers and working with independent foodie businesses across the Westcountry. I’m an active member of The Guild of Food Writers with a mission to spread the word about this region’s strengthening food identity and to help put Devon firmly on the gastro-map.

As an Oxford biology graduate, I’m passionate about sustainability and marine conservation issues. Communicating authentic eco messages to businesses and consumers is a vital part of driving a greener future, and discovering food and drink businesses which genuinely champion sustainability is always a breath of fresh air.

I spent three years as assistant editor and food editor of Devon Life magazine and in summer 2013 I edited the publication’s first issue dedicated solely to the county’s food and drink – a magazine which was well-received by readers and industry peers.

Equipped with my jam-packed book of contacts, I entered the freelance world in 2013 and I write regularly for Coast magazine, Western Morning News, blogs including Food Assembly and The Food Rush. Plus I have been food editor for MANOR magazine, a stylish, aspirational glossy magazine covering Devon and Cornwall, since its first issue in spring 2015. Throughout 2017 I’m also travelling across the county to write regular hotel and B&B reviews for The Daily Telegraph. Take a look at my portfolio page to read recent examples of my published work.
